Nintendo lead the games industry in 2010, based on software revenues, despite the economic downfall, gaming is still a big business and seems to be forever growing, especially in the last decade. The top 10 companies now have a combined revenue of over 24 billion USD, in a market estimated to be worth well over 50 billion USD. Towards this day online gaming is the area which tends to be booming, linking to the the fact in the previous blog 4 out of 5 of the fastest growing companies all focus there specialtee on onling gaming. Mobile / Handheld gaming is becoming ever popular what with the improvements in technology. During 2010 sale of software games went down, nothing too dramatic.

in conclusion the year was heavily dominated by nintendo, it seems to me that casual gaming is on the up, and games that be played and enjoyed by familys and freinds, in a relaxed and socialble environment. From personal experience it seems that non gamers also enjoy playing on the wi for its fun and relaxed aproach. Of course hardcore gamers still contribute with Call Of Duty and Red Dead Redemption been heavy hitters but maybe the tides are changing.
